From the organiser
We are delighted to announce that registrations are now open for the Health Data Forum Global Hybrid Summit 2026, taking place on 24–25 September in Bilbao. Online attendance is free of charge. Onsite participation is by invitation.
This is the first major European implementation summit of the Real Data Better AI movement — and it asks the question every health system in Europe is grappling with right now:
How do we make EHDS work in the real world by turning trusted, usable health data into better AI, better research and better health-system decisions — starting with genomics and imaging?
Hosted in partnership with the Basque Government and Osakidetza, and co-located with BioSpain (29 Sep–1 Oct), Bilbao becomes the European implementation testbed where EHDS policy, Basque health-system capabilities and international expertise converge around real data, responsible AI and high-dimensional health information.
A structured journey
From trusted data foundations to responsible AI-enabled health-system value — ending with a co-authored output, not just another conversation.
Foundations — trust, governance & infrastructure
Cloud, interoperability and trusted data environments as the prerequisite for everything that follows
Use cases — genomics & imaging in practice
Real-world EHDS implementation for high-dimensional data: EHR integration, cohort sharing, imaging at scale
Active working session
Participants co-author the Bilbao Implementation Priorities Brief across four pillars
Closing commitments round
Each participant names one concrete action they commit to in the next 6–12 months

Bilbao Implementation Priorities Brief
A practical roadmap for Real Data Better AI in EHDS implementation — with genomics, imaging, cybersecurity and trusted data environments as priority use cases. Co-authored by participants, ratified in the closing plenary.
