Ifan Evans

Executive Director of Digital Strategy, DHCW - Digital Health and Care Wales

Ifan Evans is an experienced digital leader with board-level experience in government and the NHS at the national level.

As Director of Digital Strategy at DHCW, he leads enterprise architecture, strategic planning, and delivery of the national data platform for health and care in Wales. He is the national executive lead for digital transformation programmes, including the NHS Wales App, Digital Medicines, Digital Diagnostics, National Architecture, and the National Data Resource.

Previously in Welsh Government, he was the national policy lead for technology, transformation and strategy, reporting to the CEO of NHS Wales. He led preparations for leaving the European Union, and the digital response to the Covid pandemic, working directly to Ministers and at inter-government level. He led the establishment of several new organisations and initiatives including Life Sciences Hub Wales, Health Technology Wales, and Digital Health & Care Wales.

Professor Evans is a recognised thought leader, guest lecturer and conference speaker. He is passionate about making digital a force for good, helping people to work smarter, improving health services, and delivering better outcomes for patients.
