Michelle Lam
Dr. Michelle Lam, MBBS, FHKCA, Medical Assessor, Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). Michelle is a Medical Assessor in Healthcare, Quality and Access at the UK's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). Her work focuses on evaluating new medicines and advising on regulatory and scientific issues. She previously worked in the Innovation Accelerator team, supporting innovators with access to MHRA expertise and guidance. Michelle brings extensive experience in clinical medicine and research. Before joining the MHRA, she held senior roles in clinical research organisations, where she worked on trials in neurodegenerative, infectious and respiratory diseases.
A neuroanaesthetist by background, she began her career in Hong Kong, training in anaesthesia and serving as an Associate Consultant at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, before continuing her clinical career at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. She is a Fellow of the Hong Kong College of Anaesthesiologists.At the Health Data Forum, Michelle will share her perspectives on how robust data and evidence can drive innovation, improve patient outcomes, and support the safe and ethical adoption of new health technologies.
