Prabhu Arumugam

Dr. Prabhu Arumugam is the Clinical Innovation Lead at Amazon Web Services (AWS), having joined AWS in July 2024. Before this role, he was Director of Clinical Data and Imaging at Genomics England, where he led work on integrating genomics with digital pathology and radiology imaging to advance cancer research and diagnostics.

His background is in medicine, with an MBBS from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry and a PhD from the Barts Cancer Institute focusing on pancreatic pathology. Dr. Arumugam trained in histopathology after a period as a surgical trainee, and has held multiple senior roles across national health and research organizations, including Caldicott Guardian for Genomics England and chair of NHS England's Tech and Data workstream for Secure Data Environments.

In addition to his role at AWS, he is an active non-executive director at Health Data Research UK and holds professional fellowships in clinical informatics and IT. His career is distinguished by a focus on leveraging advanced data infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and cloud technology to enhance the quality and utility of clinical and genomic data, particularly in oncology
