Edurne Lázaro Bengoa

Head of the Division of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance, AEMPS - Spanish Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices
Edurne Lázaro Bengoa is Head of the Division of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance at the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices (AEMPS), where she leads national activities in post-authorisation medicines safety and pharmacoepidemiology. She is also Director of BIFAP, Spain's primary care database for pharmacoepidemiological research, which supports the generation of real-world evidence for public health and regulatory decision-making. With more than two decades of experience at AEMPS, her work has focused on pharmacovigilance, health data analysis, interoperability and the digital transformation of medicines safety systems. At European level, she is a member of the Network Data Steering Group (NDSG), contributing to the regulatory network's strategy on data, analytics and the use of real-world data.
