Javier Cacheiro López

Scientific Director of the OneHealth DataSpace and Big Data Team Leader at CESGA, the Galicia Supercomputing Center, 

Dr. Javier Cacheiro López is Scientific Director of the OneHealth DataSpace and Big Data Team Leader at CESGA, the Galicia Supercomputing Center, where he leads the strategic and technical development of a sectoral data space bringing together human health, animal health and environmental sustainability under a One Health approach. At CESGA since 2004, he combines complex project management with a strong technical foundation in Big Data, high-performance computing and artificial intelligence, and coordinates the creation of the DATAlife (One Health) strategic data space, integrating technical, scientific and governance components with direct access to CESGA's supercomputing resources. He holds a PhD in Physics/Quantum Chemistry from the University of Santiago de Compostela, with Extraordinary Awards for both his degree and doctorate, and has been a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2009. He has taken part in more than 20 European, national and regional projects — including EGEE, EGI-InSPIRE, FormigaCloud and TRAFAIR — in coordination and technical leadership roles, has been a visiting researcher at CERN's IT Department, and is author of over 70 scientific publications in international journals and conferences (CESGA, Google Scholar).

El Dr. Javier Cacheiro López es Director Científico del OneHealth DataSpace y responsable del área de Big Data del CESGA, el Centro de Supercomputación de Galicia, donde lidera el desarrollo estratégico y técnico de un espacio de datos sectorial que integra salud humana, sanidad animal y sostenibilidad ambiental bajo el enfoque One Health. Vinculado al CESGA desde 2004, combina la gestión de proyectos complejos con una sólida base técnica en Big Data, computación de altas prestaciones (HPC) e inteligencia artificial, y coordina la creación del espacio de datos estratégico DATAlife (One Health), articulando componentes técnicos, científicos y de gobernanza con acceso directo a los recursos de supercomputación del CESGA. Doctor en Física por la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, con Premio Extraordinario de licenciatura y de doctorado, cuenta con la acreditación Project Management Professional (PMP) del Project Management Institute desde 2009. Ha participado en más de 20 proyectos europeos, nacionales y autonómicos —entre ellos EGEE, EGI-InSPIRE, FormigaCloud y TRAFAIR— en roles de coordinación y responsabilidad técnica, ha sido investigador visitante en el Departamento de IT del CERN y es autor de más de 70 publicaciones científicas en revistas y congresos internacionales (CESGA, Google Scholar)
