Professor of Global Health Research at the University of Oxford and Director of The Global Health Network

Professor Trudie Lang is Professor of Global Health Research at the University of Oxford and Director of The Global Health Network, a global community and WHO Collaborating Centre that supports health research and health data use across more than 190 countries. With over 20 years' experience running clinical studies for industry, WHO and academia, she focuses on building clinical research and data capacity in low‑resource settings, improving methods for trials and real‑world studies on diseases of poverty, and enabling more equitable use of health data for outbreaks and health system decision‑making around the world.

The Global Health Network is a global, open knowledge community led from the University of Oxford that connects health researchers and organisations to share methods, training and tools across diseases, regions and disciplines. It operates as a large digital platform and network of regional hubs that helps build research and health data capacity in low‑ and middle‑income settings, aiming to make it easier for healthcare teams everywhere to generate, share and use high‑quality evidence on diseases of poverty, outbreaks and health system challenges.
